“I feel more comfortable knowing the extra protection is under the carpet. The flooring feels more like home, as opposed to a harder surface.”

Grant Program

Fall-related injury reduction

Viconic Health is pleased to announce a grant program to support the adoption of Viconic Fall Defense flooring underlayment that endeavors to reduce the risk of injury when residents fall onto a flooring surface in long-term and senior care environments.

Addressing fall-related injury risk at the floor level is relatively new to the senior care sector but promises to have a dramatic impact on patient outcomes and risk management. By installing a permanent layer of impact-absorbing material below a flexible floor covering in high fall risk areas, a significant reduction in the severity and/or frequency of fall-related injuries is anticipated thereby allowing for greater continuity of care, reduced hospitalization rates, and better clinical and operational outcomes.

Eligible applicants:

This opportunity is open broadly to legally incorporated provider organizations, partnerships, or private corporations organized on a for-profit or non-profit basis, and who are involved in long-term and/or senior care.

Anticipated available funding and project period:

Viconic Health anticipates awarding grant funds to three or more projects. The project period is 6-24 months, post installation. Viconic Health will provide grants in the form of in-kind contribution of material, consulting services, training, and support.
