Ecumen Lakeview Commons recognized in Falls Management, Garden Spot Village recognized in KISS 

Ann Arbor, MI — September 23, 2025 — Viconic Health, and two of its senior care community partners using Viconic Fall Defense, have been recognized as winners in the 2025 McKnight’s Tech Awards, earning top honors in the Falls Management and KISS (Keep It Super Simple) categories. 

Ecumen Lakeview Commons in Maplewood, MN was named the winner in the Falls Management category, which celebrates technology that helps providers reduce the risk of fall-related injuries. By installing Viconic Fall Defense in its memory care apartments and tracking outcomes over time, the community recorded significantly fewer fall-related injuries—and no severe injuries at all. 

Garden Spot Village in New Holland, PA earned recognition in the KISS category, honoring simple but highly effective applications of technology. Through its pilot of Viconic Fall Defense, Garden Spot saw falls result in less severe outcomes, with no major injuries or ER visits reported. Based on these initial results, the community plans to expand the system into additional areas of care.
